The cohort of students emerging from the pandemic will be the future world leaders faced with the task of solving highly complex global challenges as defined by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As educators, we can shift our pedagogy to provide opportunities for youth voice in solving ‘wicked issues’ in the classroom, the community, and beyond. We can also think about the skills these students will need looking into the future. Harnessing the combination of SEL and youth voice is a powerful step towards ensuring the well-being of our students and the planet.
