Global educational organizations like the OECD have released reports to guide senior education leaders when responding to the disruption of learning caused by COVID-19. But, what about mathematics? How can we improve equity of outcomes in math for all learners as they return to a blend of classroom and online learning? Knowledgehook has commissioned a white paper to contribute to this thought leadership.
We’re in this together: Supporting High-Quality Math Teaching in Uncertain Times is a short, practical report designed to be accessible to all stakeholders. It provides a narrative on research-based best practices as well as a list of recommendations across four categories: technology, assessment, curriculum, and pedagogy. It highlights key thoughts with respect to implementation. The co-authors hope this combination will help all educators support high quality teaching and learning in math no matter what the circumstances.
Join the co-authors Jo Boaler (Nomellini & Oliver Professor of Education, Stanford University, USA), Tanya LaMar (PhD Candidate, Mathematics, Stanford University, USA), Jennifer Langer-Osuna (Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education, Stanford University, USA), Christine Suurtamm (Professor of Mathematics Education, University of Ottawa, Canada) as they present the highlights of the report and then open it up to participants for questions and a fulsome discussion.
